Here are some pics from the SKBNERDS Nagano Tour we went on this spring.
Good times. We didn't do a lot of skating but we BBQed like a barbarian and got drunk outdoor style.
Check out the slideshow Maezawa made of the tour too.
The night before the SKBNERDS Nagano Tour, we had theStem Jazz Live presented by Naoki and his freinds band "db". It was held at a small lounge in Shinjuku and a lot of non-skaters, mainly the bands friends came to the show to see Naoki's work.

Fuminaga and Maezawa getting starting on the beer before the live. Maezawa's feet is broken.

The show had a Jazz Live session from the band and a talk session about the making of the video from Naoki along with the video premiere. I want to give my hands out to all the non-skater friends for sitting through a whole skate video and watch people doing the same thing over and over again for nearly an hour. It must of been like sitting through a ballet recital and trying not to fall asleep.

I failed...
But, I liked how they pointed out that skaters see the city and the architecture through a different lens, riding on vertical walls and hand rails. Right on! We sure are getting more out of the city than anyone.

feelin' the Jazz.
The next morning we would get on the highway for a quick 3 hour drive to Nagano, my hometown. Nagano is up in the mountains like Colorado, and for some reason Nagano has some gnarly concrete skateparks too and the weather is ALWAYS nice!

A lot of things can happen in a 3 hour drive.

A lot of things.

Maezawa's way of starting off the tour. Jack Sparrow, as he says.
The first day we sessioned the concrete skatepark and started a BBQ right by the parking lot. I was waiting the whole time for the cops or someone to come and kick us out, but no one would do so and we spent the night outside, camping with no tents.
The second day we woke up in an empty skatepark at 6am and headed straight to the bathhouse. Skated the other concrete skatepark and headed to the campsite up in the mountains. Yes, real camping! The experience of going to a completely non-skateable environment with the your skater friends was really nice. Sorry no pics here...

We came back to civilization the next day and to end the tour we skated this gnarly rusted handrail. This spot is the spot I skated 10 years ago when I lived in Nagano. Never imagined I'd come back here with these guys.
